Dance video
In 2005 I got permission to film in the metro of Tbilisi. By this time there were no advertisements on the walls and no video screens with Georgian folk dance, as propaganda for Georgian army.
I wanted to fix this transition moment for my memories. Metro, as a small city under the ground, with destroyed soviet monumental architecture, people with sad faces, all in black. I was touched by the idea that there was a time when people believed that they were building a ‘glorious future for their children’, but their ‘lovers’, like in old tango songs, cheated them. Irony. Nostalgia. Unreachable love, which disappears.
