The Gripes -is a fable about the fox that could not reach the grapes. The video is made in polystyrene
plant. The subtitle text is the extract - Mooksy and the Gripes (the version of Esope’s fable: Fox and
the Grapes.), from the novel by James Joyce – Finnegans Wake.
The video is made in a factory for polystrene. The high styrofoam columns are moving slowly, following invisible rules. They seem to hover and are systematically put together. They appear like actors of a strange theatre play, the camera being mostly still. The video is accompanied by subtitle texts, presenting an excerpt of Mooksy and the Gripes, a chapter from Finnegans Wake by James Joyce. The plot of this fable is also an absurd text in which the figures are interacting without logics, hardly depictable. The video is conducting modes of abstraction in text and movements.
